Farmingdale NY Yellow Pages

Farmingdale is a village in the town of Oyster Bay. Thomas Powell purchased a 15 square mile of land in October of 1695 from Massapeque Indians which including part of Farmingdale along with portions of land in Plainview, Melville, and Bethpage. He divided the land among family members which all began to create agriculture in the area. At that time, the area was known as Harscarbble but was changed in 1845 to Farmingdale. In 1904 the village became incorporated and after the Civil War industries and businesses flocked to the area with the main industry being aircraft.

Farmington is served by the Farmingdale School District with a total of six schools along with the University of New York also calling the community home. Farmingdale is a close knit community with an array of businesses and fine dining options the entire family can enjoy.
Attractions in Farmington include the Adventure Land Amusement Park where the kids can have a fun time with all kinds of rides and games often used for birthday parties. Another great place to visit is the American Airpower Museum where visitors can view authentic World War II memorabilia and artifacts like photographs, equipment, weapons, and uniforms.
